The Chimera

Have you ever wanted more continuous gas composition data for your biogas tests? Improve your feedstock analysis with semi-continuous gas composition data, to evaluate the performance of the anaerobic digestion process. The Chimera provides low flow gas reading for CH₄ and CO₂ (additional gases: H₂S, H₂, O₂, N₂, NH₃ and SO₂) - giving accurate readings with just 50ml/hour gas flow rate. Also, connect to up to 15 gas sources at once and the Chimera will automatically switch between them, removing the need for gas bag collection and long manual testing of each bag individually.

Lab-scale biogas setups such as BMP have lagged behind industrial plants in gas composition readings. The challenge of only producing low flows has meant that all gas composition options always present a compromise: whether it's infrequent data readings (gas bags), washing of important gases (H₂S, CO₂...) or complicated procedure (GC). The Chimera eliminates these issues by providing a convenient and easy to operate machine that measures gas composition online, semi-continuously and across up to 15 channels.

All Chimeras come fitted with CH₄ and CO₂ NDIR sensors which are primary indicators for the AD process.

Up to 6 additional gas sensors can be added: H₂S, H₂, O₂, N₂, NH₃ and SO₂. This expands the possible uses to more research areas alongside AD.

Multiple inlets

Connect up to 15 channels online and the Chimera will automatically switch between them, eliminating the need to individually test gas bags for gas composition data. Collect the outlet gas into bags for disposal or release it directly to your ventilation.

Semi-continuous gas composition data

Capture the full dynamics of your gases changing composition, even in low flow BMP tests. Just 50ml/hour flow rate required for an accurate reading, so you obtain more frequent data points even with lower volumes of gas.

Online Gas Flow

Connect the Chimera online to any operational setup, so long as there is a gas hose outlet from your system. The Chimera connects directly to your source or gas flow meter and doesn't require gas to be collected and stored in gas bags. Chimera is compatible with any reactor operational setup.
